Yes exactly Raymond, it's such an incredible story, I think of it often when I'm getting a little eco-anxious. We can do this together, they seem to say in the sky.

Lovely read, I felt so cosy and enjoyed immersing myself in alll these details. The journe prompts I need more time to refflect with but I would say I have been paying a lot of attention to the clouds lately, so different here throughout every day. Also I just went shopping and had a sudden urge to buy a range of vegetables, different ones than I usually buy, eating the rainbow! Perhaps this is how I am marking things today, and I express my gratitude with my hand on my heart.

Beautiful Melinda, I am a little obsessed with the clouds at the moment as they’ve returned and there are so many different names for clouds - it’s a specialism within itself. There was one last night here that looked like a high surf with the light scattering down it as its frills drifted out into rain. Gorgeous. I love the idea of going out and buying new vege where you are - so much fun and such physical creativity as you get to have new tastes! I hope the move has all gone well x

Lammas Evensong

Brisk, excited chitter of a pair of Blue Tits investigating the Lilac bush beside the window,

Rapid ticking of a Robin atop the garden's back fence,

The repeated teck-teck call of a Blackcap perching on the neighbour's shed roof,

Distant, low-pitched kraa-kraa-kraa of a pair of Carrion Crow balanced in a tree aback the railway line

Familiar, friendly sounds in an unfamiliar place made less unaccustomed by their presence.

When I first saw the yellow and black

It took my breath away

Rows upon rows

Reaching their petals to the sun

Tall green stems

Hardy and thick

I wiped a tear

As they were torn down

To make room for

My home

My heart was healed

As I look to my back acre

And see them return

To me

Forgive me

For destroying their lineage

Such tender reflection of return - did you plant them back yourself or did they naturally appear? I love the pacing and delicacy of this, room for you both in the end πŸ’š

No amazingly they just showed up 20 years later

White-barred red wings,

Circling, soaring, sweeping,

Majesties of the air,

Majesties of my heart,

A round dozen Red Kites,

True joy their presence brings.

I love this Raymond, what a great first note to receive today πŸͺ½ I can see the storm of Red Kits in my mind - they are such creatures of hope, an emblem that things that dwindle will return x

Thanks!

They are very much an emblem of hope, the way we almost lost them altogether in this country, and then they recovered magnificently.
